Privacy
What stays on your Mac.
An assistant that knows who you deal with is only worth running if you know what it does with that.
Encrypted locally
Your contacts, notes, and conversations are encrypted on your Mac, with the key held in the macOS keychain.
Speech stays on-device
Speech recognition runs on your Mac. Audio is not uploaded.
The model starts blind
By default the AI model is told nothing about you or your contacts. It has to ask for specific details, and every request is recorded in an activity log you can read.
People you can wall off
Mark any person “never send to the AI” and their details stay out of every request.

It catches what you would have lost
The commitment buried in a long thread. The name of the person you promised to introduce. The thing you said you would send by Friday. Nemis picks these up as they pass and holds on to them, without you stopping to file anything.
It remembers like a person, not a database
Context, not just records. Who someone is, how you know them, what you last talked about, what you owe them. You ask the way you would ask a colleague who was in the room, and you get an answer, not a search result.
It brings things back at the right moment
Recall you did not ask for. Before the call, what you discussed last time and what is still open. At the end of the week, the three follow-ups quietly going stale. The value is in the timing, not the storage.
It closes the loop
Drafts the follow-up, prepares the reply, assembles the note you needed to write. You review and send. The work still carries your judgment, but it no longer starts from a blank page and a vague sense that you owe someone something.

A brain is as much about what it ignores as what it keeps. Nemis separates the signal worth holding from the noise, so what surfaces later is the handful of things that actually matter, not everything you ever touched.
Recall that anticipates
Retrieval triggered by what you are about to do, not only by what you type. The right context arrives before the meeting, the call, or the reply, which is the difference between a tool you consult and one that works alongside you.
Judgment stays yours
Nemis prepares, drafts, and reminds. It does not send on your behalf or make decisions in your name unless you tell it to. The loop closes with you in it, which is the only way to trust something this close to your working life.

Common questions.
How is this different from a chatbot or a notes app?
A chatbot answers when asked and forgets when you close it. A notes app stores what you remember to type, which is the part that already fails. Nemis is built around the model rather than being a window onto one: it keeps durable memory, decides what is worth holding, and brings things back on its own initiative. You do not have to remember to use it in order for it to help.
Where does my data live?
Nemis runs on your Mac. Your working life is the most sensitive data set you own, and a second brain is only worth having if you are not nervous about what it knows. Storage and processing are designed around keeping it on hardware you control.
What will the iPhone app add?
It is not out yet, so treat this as intent rather than a feature list. The Mac app does the heavy work; the phone is the surface you actually have with you when you walk into a meeting, take a call, or remember something in a parking lot. The plan is a personal CRM on the phone: every person, the history, and what is open between you.
Do I have to reorganize how I work?
No. Anything that requires you to maintain it has already failed for the person who needs it most. Nemis is built to sit on top of how you already work rather than asking you to adopt a system, keep a taxonomy current, or file things correctly.
Is this for teams?
The first release is built for one person and their working life, and small businesses where that one person is effectively the operation. Team features are a natural direction, but we would rather do the single-user experience properly first.
